Last Thursday Joon came out for a lesson, sadly she got overheated and sick and had to get off of Foxy early, however when she got off we decided to give Foxy a bath because she was sweating. We had lots of fun then when Foxy was finished we had a water fight with the hose. It was so much fun and by the end of the day, Joon was soaked from head to toe.

Today Annabelle came out to the barn today! We were so excited to see her again. She got to groom, tack, and ride Foxy! She even learned going over ground poles and even tried trotting. She then helped with untacking, cleaning the stall, and cleaning tack! She is a good little rider and can trot all by herself without any help! We are so excited to have her back and can't wait to have her again!

We have a new student here at Quarter Horse Hearts, her name is Emily! She is a smart little girl who has fun with the horses and works well with them. Yesterday she began by learning how to groom and what tools you use to groom a horse, then she learned what parts of a bridle were what. Then once foxy was tacked up she took the mare out of the barn and into the arena where she rode Foxy and just got the feel of riding and just learning how to steer.

Joon rides Foxy!

On Thursday 3/14/13 Joon came out to ride Foxy again. She was great! Joon reviewed on which brushes were which, how each were used and tacking a horse. Then Once Foxy was geared up to go we took her out to the arena where Joon got on and worked on turns and going over ground poles, looking at the pole as she lined herself up for the "jump" then looking at the top of the fence ahead of her until Foxy was over the pole. She caught on really quick! Then after we worked on that she worked on figure 8's which she needs alot more work on. After she finished riding we took Foxy, untacked her in the crossties then went and Joon learned how to clean a stall for the first time. After that Joon was taught how to clean tack and once again caught on quickly. We can't wait for Joon to come out again soon, she's making out to be a promising student and rider!
